Before OBE formalized a marketing department, I organically stepped into a hybrid role bridging design, branding, and business communication. I became the go-to creative resource for IT and internal teams, producing visual materials that clarified our tools, aligned messaging, and elevated our department’s visibility company-wide. Over time, my role expanded to support cross-departmental initiatives and even external-facing collateral — helping the business maintain momentum while minimizing dependency on costly outside vendors.
In the years prior to OBE establishing an in-house marketing team, creative work outside of major product launches often went unaddressed. While a third-party agency managed the big campaigns, they weren’t available (or cost-effective) for the smaller but essential needs of internal communication, departmental branding, or ongoing outreach efforts.
I filled that gap.
Initially supporting IT, I created logos, UI graphics, diagrams, and training visuals to support our growing suite of internal tools and dashboards. As other departments recognized the quality and efficiency of my work, I began receiving requests across the organization — from HR and Operations to Sales and Product groups.
My work eventually extended beyond internal deliverables:
I designed and managed our email marketing graphics and templates.
I developed promotional materials for printed mailers and brochures.
I created full-scale booth graphics and signage for trade shows and industry events.
All of this was done without a formal title or team — I simply saw the need and delivered. My efforts not only improved communication clarity and visual consistency, but also saved OBE significant time and cost by providing an in-house alternative to the agency's limited scope.
