Best Practices Screens
Project Synopsis

The "Best Practices Screens" initiative emerged from the ERP Plant Dashboard Project, aiming to present real-time information from individual work lines and tools across all Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope plants. While the Plant Dashboards focused on specific data tiles, charts, and pages tailored to various business needs, the need arose for a dedicated page displaying specific, real-time data for each tool at every plant location.

Implementing this was a substantial challenge, primarily due to the requirement for each tool in every plant to showcase such data, which posed technological hurdles initially.

My Role and Responsibilities

Upon the project's announcement, I began conceptualizing a basic design and collaborated with project managers to determine the optimal display method for these tools. Eventually, we settled on using 32" LCD TVs with internet connectivity.

The objective was to integrate a dedicated section within the dashboards featuring dropdown menus and configurations for each tool at every plant. These links would be accessible via the TVs to display the relevant real-time data.

This endeavor necessitated meticulous planning and documentation for installing and configuring TVs at each plant. Despite the complexities, the project was highly successful, earning positive feedback from employees throughout the company.
